Thank you so very much for your kindness Mr. Denton.
I appreciate you taking my matter seriously and your eye for detail. I will never forget the way you handled my case with efficiency and speed. Much thanks and happy holidays to you and your staff.
We are on the eve of a long four year legal struggle. I would like to express our deepest and most sincere appreciation to you and your staff for the efforts and expertise that you have provided us during this ordeal. It is important to us for you to know that no matter the outcome of this appeal, you have won a place in my heart and in the hearts of my family forever.
You took up our cause when I honestly think no one else would have. I know you accepted our case with some reservation. However, once you did accept it, you have always approached it with an amazing zeal and enthusiasm. You have always taken an honest and fair approach in your advice to us. You have been professional in your preparation and passionate in your presentation. Over the last four years, you and your staff have become our champions. We waded into a confusing legal system filled with procedure and protocol, smoke and mirrors, and sometimes what appeared to be outright deceit. You have always taken the time to provide explanation and guidance. You reached in and lifted our family out of the mire and onto dry ground again. For this we thank you. You are indeed a noble group of legal experts.
There is only one Jerry Denton….nothing is too hard for him to try!
Relentless advocacy for the wholly vulnerable.
Proud to be in the same profession.
Jerry – You have made us all proud to be trial lawyers. From a lifetime of commitment to the law, you have changed the meaning of harsh Biblical verse. From Jeremiah 11:11 (KJV): “Thus saith the LORD, Behold, 1 will bring evil upon them, which they shall not be able to escape; and though they shall cry unto me. I will not hearken unto them.”
To Jeremiah (JAD translation) “if evil descends upon you, and it appears you cannot escape, cry unto me and 1 will harken unto you!”
Congratulations, my friend!
Please join me in Congratulating VILA Stalwart, Jeremiah Denton, who accepted a judicial request to assist a patient at a state mental hospital with his claims of mistreatment. After a six day trial in a Section 1983 claim Jerry received a judgment of $… compensatory and punitive damages and an award of fees totaling $…. Judge Morgan of the USDCEDVA – Norfolk said that the fee award was based on Denton’s “extraordinary efforts…to locate a key witness – the assailant – and present his testimony.”
The case is Farabee v. Yaratha, Civil Action No. 2:14cvl 18 – and is well worth the read!
Way to go, Jerry! Great lawyering.
If “Dogged” isn’t Jerry’s middle name, it should be.
Congratulations on your win in the 1983 case. It is indicative of your skill and ability. Only you could have pulled that one off. You are an inspiration & it’s an honor to practice with & learn from you.
