Jeremiah A. Denton, IV
Jeremiah (“Jake”) A. Denton IV graduated Cum Laude from the William and Mary School of Law and earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia. Jake is admitted to practice in Virginia state courts and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. He is a member of the Virginia State Bar, the Virginia Bar Association, the Norfolk and Portsmouth Bar Association, the Virginia Beach Bar Association, and the I’Anson-Hoffman Inn of Court.
Prior to attending law school, Jake worked as a journalist. At the Virginia Port Authority, he worked as editor of the Virginia Maritimer magazine. Before joining the Virginia Port Authority, Jake worked as a reporter and freelancer for Inside Business, Virginia Living, and other publications. He enjoys spending time with his wife Katie and their children Jack, Patrick and Somer.
Case Experience and History:
Jake’s practice focuses on civil litigation and criminal defense. His experiences include a 10-week jury trial in Federal Court; appeals to the Supreme Court of Virginia; mediations in sexual harassment and injury cases; successfully defending felony criminal charges; and pro bono representation of domestic violence victims. He regularly handles court-appointed cases for indigent defendants.
